Uncovering Prospects is an annual event for high-potential students of Black heritage who are interested in exploring internship opportunities in the City of London.


Creative industries, including journalism

Creative Access

Creative Access was set up to offer opportunities in the creative industries for young people from underrepresented Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds. A number of paid internships are advertised on the site.

Journalism Diversity Fund

The Journalism Diversity Fund provides bursaries to support NCTJ-accredited training of journalists from ethnically and socially diverse backgrounds.


Civil Service and Government

Civil Service - Early Diversity Internship Programme

The Civil Service’s Early Diversity Internship Programme gives an opportunity for first-year undergraduates from diverse backgrounds to find out more about the Civil Service and Fast Stream.

House of Commons BAME Graduate Internship Programme

This internship programme provides paid work experience, employability support and guidance to individuals from BAME communities that are currently underrepresented in the House of Commons’ workforce. The programme is designed to equip interns with the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for full-time positions in Parliament on completion of the programme.



Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK)

AFBE-UK promotes higher achievements in education and engineering particularly among people from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. The website provides information on their programmes, events, and job opportunities.



Aspiring Solicitors

Aspiring Solicitors aim to increase diversity throughout the legal profession. They do this by working with law firms and legal teams to provide events, mentoring, competitions, employability assistance and access to the legal profession.

Black Solicitors Network

The Black Solicitors Network is the primary voice of Black solicitors in England and Wales, committed to achieving equality of access, retention and promotion of Black solicitors. There is information for students on 'Workshops & Training', a 'BAME Careers Guide' and an events calendar.



Melanin Medics

The Melanin Medics Medical Student’s Network is a group of African Caribbean Medical Students based all across the UK. They aim to provide exciting networking opportunities and equip African-Caribbean medical students with the knowledge and support needed to succeed in their medical careers.

Modern day Medics

Modern Day Medics is a non-profit organisation run by a group of diverse medical students and junior doctors. They aim to provide a medical network to help current medical students and junior doctors in training through the challenging years of studying at medical school and working as a junior doctor.

The Black and Minority Ethnics in Psychiatry & Psychology Network

The Black and Minority Ethnics in Psychiatry & Psychology Network is a social enterprise aiming to prioritise and advance the representation of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds within psychiatry and psychology​. They run a range of events in which they discuss how to access careers in mental health professions.




BBSTEM aims to encourage, enable, and energise individuals in business, industry, and education to widen participation and contribution of Black individuals in STEM. Students can join as members and sign up for mentorship and careers advice.
