Explore the powerful history of the fight to end transatlantic slavery in Rise Up, a new exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum. This thought-provoking display uncovers the stories of the people, communities, and movements that campaigned for abolition between 1750 and 1850, as well as the lasting legacies of the struggle for equality today.
Featuring historic artworks, objects, and works by contemporary artists, Rise Up celebrates the often-forgotten Black Georgians and Victorians, alongside resistance leaders like Jamaican freedom fighter Nanny of the Maroons and Nigerian-born abolitionist Olaudah Equiano.
Admission is free. Book your tickets now: Fitzwilliam Museum Tickets
