Black Advisory Hub

The Black Advisory Hub is seeking two postgraduate students to contribute to the pre-publication stage of the Glossary on racially inclusive language.

The work will involve updating and editing a draft student-created Glossary, which was collaboratively designed and developed by teams of Black undergraduate students working with the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning, and a University Diversity Fund.

We are now seeking experienced student writers and editors to help refine the glossary entries with the addition of relevant scholarship and examples of practices, as well as to develop supporting staff-facing resources, for final publication on the Black Advisory Hub.

Applicants should be current students at Cambridge University with in-depth knowledge of UK higher education terminology on race and associated concepts; successful candidates will also be alert to contemporary racial discourses, including critical race theory and diversity and inclusion. Applicants must be available for short-term project work between May - July 2022. The majority of the project team meetings and work will be online.

Please apply (click here to find the application form) by Monday 23rd May 2022.

  • Roles:  2 postgraduate student editor positions, hired on temporary contracts for max 40 hours each across the project
  • Rate of pay:  research assistant rates (Grade 5 Level 1 at £14.22/hour)
  • When:  flexible work across late May to late July 2022 (equiv to a half day per week).
