The following events have been scheduled following the success of the First-Year Induction meetings at the start of this academic year, as students requested further opportunities to catch up with other Black students to discuss their experiences of study at the University of Cambridge.
Postgraduate afternoon tea: March 2023 (date and time tbc)
We are hosting an event for Black postgraduate students across all years to come together, share experiences and meet people across departments and levels of postgraduate study. There will be tea & cake at the event, which will be held at the Student Services Centre (Bene't St, Cambridge CB2 3PT). This event was planned to be on 9th March but has been rescheduled due to strike action: announcements on its rescheduled date will be updated here.
Please contact Zeena Elhassan on contact@blackadvisory.hub.cam.ac.uk if you have any suggestions for activities to incorporate into the event such as discussions, activities, workshops, etc.
First-year undergraduate afternoon tea: May 2023 (date and time tbc)
Joining up with the induction events held this past autumn, we are reconnecting with first-year students before the exam season for tea & cake and to share top tips for exam season from second- and third-year students. Time, date and location will be listed here in due course with a registration link. In the meantime, please contact Zeena Elhassan if you have any suggestions for activities to incorporate into the event such as discussions, activities, workshops, etc.
